Throughout his long and varied career, Dr. Ricker has straddled the chasm between the "Ivory Tower" of academia and the "Real World"; building a reputation as a distinguished teacher, versatile musician, well-known author of books on jazz improvisation and saxophone technique, and as an astute businessman.
