Derek Coburn - NETWORKING IS NOT WORKING
Over the last few decades, networking has devolved into an endless series of cattle call events full of open bars and closed fists. Perfect strangers, after a long day at the office, agree to show up and bump into each other, randomly exchanging business pitches for business cards.
Needless to say, traditional networking isn't working anymore. For successful 21st century business people, large networking events and the mountains of business cards they produce have become a waste of time and valuable resources. It's time for a new, modern approach to networking.
Networking Is NOT Working was born out of author Derek Coburn's frustration with having spent thousands of fruitless hours attending traditional networking events, he offers fresh, effective, unconventional strategies for growing and nurturing a powerful network. These strategies grew his revenue by 300% in just 18 months and can have a major impact on your business.
Derek Coburn is the Founder and CEO of cadre, an un-networking community in Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD, which currently supports over 100 CEOs and business leaders and has hosted numerous bestselling authors and important public figures.

Lewis Schiff - Author of Business Brilliant - Executive Director, Inc. - Business Owners Council
With Bruce Peters and special co-host David Mammano
Ask a member of the middle class what it takes to become wealthy, and they will tell you it takes a bold new idea. Tell that to a self-made millionaire, and they will vehemently disagree. What explains the difference in mind-set between the self-made wealthy and the rest of us? It's not what you think! Lewis Schiff is the executive director of Inc. Business Owners Council, a membership organization for Inc. Magazine's top entrepreneurs and owners of closely held family businesses, and maintains a blog about behavioral entrepreneurship on Inc.com. Schiff has coauthored two books: The Influence of Affluence: The Rise of the New Rich and How They are Changing America, which charts the rise of America's growing affluent middle class through original research and analysis, and The Armchair Millionaire, which describes a wealth-creation system that leverages Nobel Prize-winning methodologies.

Peter Philippi - CEO, Strategex
The 80/20 Profit Enhancement
We've all have heard of or know, the 80/20 Rule (or Pareto Principle), but few of us execute it effectively. Do you apply 80/20 to your business or personal life? What would change in your business or life if you could execute 80/20 effectively? Interested to learn how? Profit growth begins with finding your business's best assets. Which products or services are truly profitable for your company? Which customers would you consider your "A" customers - those that are most valuable and reliable? When you step back and take a discriminating look at your business, what part is the 20% - the critical core - that leads to all of your profitability?
Asking these questions is the first and most substantial step in creating a smart plan for enhancing growth. Once you discover where your company's real value is, you can focus your resources there, zeroing in on your best-performing and highest potential offerings, and then travel a clearly defined path to a business performance transformation.
STRATEGEX, Inc. Strategex, Inc. is a research and consulting firm based in Chicago, dedicated to providing direction and support for sustainable, profitable and aggressive growth. Founded in early 1993, Strategex has focused on the growth of our business-to-business clients in both domestic and international markets. John Gaudu - Co-founder Wellington Steele and Associates
The competition is fierce out there if you're the candidate or the employer looking to hire. Our first guest on the CEO Hour is the executive vice president of the recruiting and outsourcing company Wellington Steele and Associates. It is one of Rochester NY's Top 100 companies. John Gaudu says Wellington mostly deals with IT hiring but no matter, it's all about creating relationships with clients. The big three questions, can they do the job, will they do the job and do they fit the culture or how well do they play with others.
