With a passion for food, wine, travel and hospitality, Nicole Mahoney says she was led to create a boutique marketing and communications firm called Break the Ice Media. She says it specializes in collaborative programs that leverage resources of multiple partners for coop-etition. Competitors come together to create programs that are larger than ones they could execute on their own. Examples are programs like Digital Rochester, Finger Lakes Vacation Region, and Wayne County Apple Growers. Nicole shares her experiences creating a small company and also what you need to look for in a marketing and communications firm.
